How We Serve
Project D.E.S.A.R.DE.N. is governed by a board of directors and operated by a staff of professionals who specialize in social work, non-profit leadership, fundraising, and community development. The work of Project D.E.S.A.R.D.E.N. and the success of the families is supported by generous funders, donors, and volunteers.
Yazmin has a bachelor's degree in Child Development. She has experience being a foster mother and working for a large non-profit as an assistant recruiter for the Los Angeles Conservation Corps. Also working at numerous schools and programs with children ages newborn to 24-year-old young adults. Her passion to help and support parents and children develop is important to her. Our communities need resources they help when accessible, as Yazmin experienced death, homeless and the good times growing up in Los Angeles she started Project Desarden in honor of Erik Desarden Jr. Project D.E.S.A.R.DE.N. is not just a program we are a family helping other families. As a woman, mother, and teacher Yazmin has a lot of guidance and time dedicated to make the program successful to reach families in need.
Tyrell Payne grew up in Los Angeles and his experience going through foster care and being in programs like the YMCA helped him going through family stress. He enjoys giving back to kids because they are the next generation Also has interest to give back to skid row such as clothes and accessories to help the homeless in that arera. This organization is for the youth in the neighborhood and his plans to expand the program.
Arriegious Thomas is an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is dedicated to the bettering of our communities and uplifting us as a people. Also knowing how hard it is to stay focused when they are family issues and responsibilities resources do help. He wants to help others make better decisions in life by supporting the community and improving this program.
